The event featured a CDMA University training course on 1xEV-DO concepts for business professionals, a workshop on business opportunities with AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) and 700 MHz spectrum, and a conference with keynotes and panels discussing the future of wireless and advanced mobile broadband solutions. The AWS and 700 MHz workshop included an overview of each spectrum band, its players and plans, as well as presentations on public safety applications and the CDMA evolution path. Two panels explored the availability of AWS network infrastructure equipment and devices. The workshop concluded with a presentation from Cricket Communications outlining their plans with CDMA2000 ® for AWS. The conference began with a series of keynote presentations on emerging mobile applications such as payments, gaming and search and navigation from senior executives at Obopay, Electronic Arts (EA), Sony Online Entertainment, JumpTap and Networks in Motion, respectively. Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm, provided his perspective on the future of wireless and what's ahead for CDMA. Two vendor panels explored the evolution of CDMA technology, networks and devices. Sprint Nextel gave a keynote address on Fixed Mobile Convergence and enterprise applications, and the conference ended with a discussion session featuring CxO's from KDDI, SK Telecom, Sprint Nextel and Starcomms.
