Plantronics debuts Bluetooth stereo headset | NetworkWorld.com Community
Plantronics debuts Bluetooth stereo headset Submitted by Keith Shaw on Mon, 03/26/2007 - 3:08pm. Plantronics got a jump on the announcements at the CTIA Wireless 2007 show today by announcing its Pulsar 260 Stereo Bluetooth Headset , which lets users talk on the phone via Bluetooth or listen to their music via the stereo headset profile (also known as the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile, or A2DP). The Pulsar 260 is now available for $109.95 through retail channels and the Plantronics Web site. The A2DP support lets users wirelessly listen to stereo music and answer or end calls without a separate adapter or having to pick up the phone. The device's pendant-plus-earphone design includes a central control panel that lets users wirelessly advance through songs or change the volume. The in-ear headphones include soft silicone gel tips, Plantronics says. The device's battery allows for up to nine hours of talk time and up to seven hours of listen time, the company added. An audio-out cable is included, which effectively turns the Pulsar 260 into a Bluetooth adapter, allowing users to stream music from their Bluetooth device to a stereo or speaker system, for example.
